‘Branding’ is the phase in which tourism products need to be positioned in the tourism market. The development of a brand is an important part of every single tourism project. Subsequently, the brand will be marketed to the tourist industry with a efficient marketing approach.
PASEO
An example of our approach of ‘branding’ is PASEO: the brand for a tourism experience (day tours, accommodations etc.) who are developed at Fair trade producers of coffee, fruit and cacao. The brand name PASEO guarantees that the revenue contributes to the local economy, that the tours and/or accommodations are locally managed and that it is strived for to limit the negative effects of tourism to the local culture and the natural environment. Green Key
In 2005 and 2006 we have transformed the Dutch national ecolabel for tourism accommodations into the international tourism ecolabel Green Key. This is also a good example of branding. For more information about Green key, please visit: www.greenkey.nl
